  • I listened to people try to talk to them about the wine and they didn't seem to interested.I'd never been to this Wasted Grain before but based on the fact that the Tempe location closed down and my experience at this event, I won't be returning.Tix include 20 whiskey tastings! We will have over 20 different whiskey varieties to choose from! About this Event For the most part it seemed like they only knew the name and location of the wine with a little bit of tasting information but that was about it. A lot of people were crowding the bar so it was hard to get to most of the pitchers - sorry to inconvenience you!! Wasted Grain staff were also manning the wine stations. We confirmed with the waitress that Wasted Grain was providing the food for the event and not some random vendor (you had to go outside to order and pick up your food.).Service: While there were water pitchers available on the bar, the waitresses seemed incredibly annoyed if you asked them for water. It was so chalky and bland, we couldn't eat it!! The mushroom thing was just okay but I definitely would not have paid $10 for it again. It was the weirdest thing and we saw other people not eating it as well. They looked like something a 19 year old would prepare after purchasing a grill for their first apartment. We opted for chicken & pineapple skewers and some sort of bun-less mushroom stacker/burger. HUH? How do you run out of meat & cheese boards at a WINE TASTING EVENT? And they couldn't take it off the menu/TVs either so almost everyone was asking for it the whole event. They ran out of the board within about an hour of the event starting. Food: So there was a set menu of about 5 items that were available and displayed on their TV's, once of which was a meat & cheese board. Unfortunately the food and service leave a lot to be desired. It's a nice, spacious place with lots of TVs and a large outdoor area. The reason why I'm giving it two stars is because of the ambiance/location.

You could probably pick most of the wine up at Fry's (Cupcake, etc.) so I'm guessing this is their way of packing the place full on a Saturday afternoon. Apparently said tickets were going for $50 a pop, which I would not have paid. I ended up here for a "wine tasting" event that my friend got free tickets to.
